Meryl is one of the only important female characters in Trigun besides Mille and Rem. She works for an insurance company that is trying to keep tabs on Vash the Stampede. At first all she does is yell and bitch, bitch, bitch. But a little later in the series she finally shuts up and starts treating Vash better. (Obviously, it's because she develops a crush on him).
